CA TP HCM exerted significant effort to achieve a narrow win over HAGL in round 15 of the V-League.
After a challenging 90 minutes against HAGL on the Pleiku field, CA TP HCM successfully obtained the crucial 3 points in round 15 of the LPBank V-League 1-2025/26.
Observing his players' performance after the match, Coach Le Huynh Duc emphasized. Of course, I and the players are happy with the win. But the greatest joy today is that the players competed with passionate and courageous spirit.
The players entered the match with a mindset of winning without arrogance and losing without discouragement, maintaining high concentration in every situation on the field. That focus and intensity created today's victory.
Coach Le Huynh Duc and his team faced significant difficulties following two losses: 1-2 against Dong A Thanh Hoa (before the Lunar New Year) and 0-1 against Becamex TP HCM at Thong Nhat Stadium. Not only losing momentum, Tien Linh and his teammates traveled to Gia Lai with a patched-up lineup, as midfielder Endrick and forward Williams Lee were absent due to injuries.
Despite personnel losses and unstable form, the visiting team CA TP HCM still maintained control of the match. Immediately after the opening whistle, Tien Linh, Thanh Binh, and Quoc Cuong successively threatened HAGL's goal.
An outstanding performance by goalkeeper Trung Kien, the starting goalkeeper for the Vietnam U23 team, included miraculous saves, preventing HAGL's net from being breached. However, what was inevitable eventually happened. In the final minute of the first half, Peter Makrillos delivered a dangerous cross to the far post, perfectly timed for Khoa Ngo to score, allowing CA TP HCM to take the lead.
Entering the second half, unwilling to accept defeat at home, HAGL pushed their formation high, pressuring Coach Le Huynh Duc's players back into their own half. Facing intense pressure from the mountain team, Le Giang and his teammates persistently defended.
With tight coverage, the central defender duo Matheus – Tran Hoang Phuc helped CA TP HCM's defense hold firm through 90+7 minutes. The final whistle sounded, CA TP HCM achieved a minimal 1-0 victory over HAGL on the Pleiku field. Several of Coach Le Huynh Duc's players collapsed on the field after playing with 200% spirit and effort. Even central defender Matheus had to leave the field on a stretcher, though the match had ended.
Despite Tien Linh's subdued performance, CA TP HCM still managed to defeat HAGL.
Coach Kim Sang Sik called up two HAGL players to the Vietnam U23 team.
